Diane Cockrell Story

I’m a single Mom and have been for 21 years. Raising my three girls alone was hard and I lost track of who I was. About five years ago, I began gaining a lot of weight. I was confused and frustrated. I had never had a weight problem before, so I went to the doctor for help. After many tests, my doctor told me that my thyroid had stopped functioning and she put me on thyroid medication to give me "some" metabolism. She also told me I would not be able to lose the excess weight, and I would just have to accept my (fat) body as it was. I was devastated, and my weight continued to gradually increase and in July of 1997, I weighed 224 pounds. My diet consisted of two six-packs of Dr Pepper per day and one small meal. I was afraid to eat. I took care to make sure my clothes were nice, trying to look as good as I could, as I didn’t want people to be ashamed to be around me.

With extreme hesitation, I made plans to attend my 30-year class reunion. I was ashamed of my weight and was fearful of being rejected and looked down on. I really didn’t want anyone to see me this way, but due to my poor health, I also thought this could be my last chance to see any of my friends ever again. Before the reunion date arrived, I changed my mind several times. I even thought of turning around and going home while driving to the reunion. I’m glad I made the decision to go through with it. I went to the reunion, where I was renunited with my best high school friend, Melanie ("Mel"). I stayed with Mel during the reunion weekend, and while satisfying a Dr Pepper craving, I learned about a great weight-loss program Mel had recently gone on. She had lost more than 40 pounds herself in the last 2½ months, and for the first time in a long time, I felt a ray of hope that I too could lose weight and be healthy and happy.

In reality, I had given up on life. Mel helped me to see that I was the only person who could change my future and I had to take the first step out of my comfort zone. She suggested I start right off with the Ultimate Weight Management Program. I began losing weight the first week and continued dropping pounds, losing 24 pounds in the first month. My energy level soared, hope re-entered my being and my outlook on life changed overnight. Pounds and inches dropped off faster than I expected. In just 8½ months I have lost more than 105 pounds, I’ve gone from a dress size of 24 to a size of 8 and I’ve lost approximately 100 inches.

I now feel like a new person and have a new lease on life. My angina attacks have stopped and my blood pressure and cholesterol are under control. Even some arthritic problems are gone, as well. I’m happier than I’ve been in years and my self-esteem is returning, thanks to a caring friend who introduced me to this life-changing program. Because of my belief in these products, I’m now enjoying helping others to have the same miracle in their lives that I’ve had in mine. Life is good!
